Meet the Recruitment and Training Team
We believe that behind any success lies a dedicated and proficient team. Allow us to introduce you to the heart of our organisation: our recruitment and training team. Having walked the same paths as your applicants, they bring a wealth of firsthand knowledge and expertise to the table. They know what it takes because they have been there themselves, navigating the challenges and opportunities that come with the daily camp life. With this knowledge, they are able to identify talent and make meaningful connections with applicants. Through mentoring and support, they provide guidance and give the practical know-how that is needed to create a safe and fun camp environment.

Helge Maul
Co-founder and Member of Board
I am co-founder of the Youth Travel Academy and have worked as a Product-, Training and Development Manager for my own language school more than ten years. I am lecturing at the University of Applied Sciences in Bremen.
My specialisms are quality assurance systems including the development and management of inspection frameworks and international team recruitment.
Thomas Hahne

During my studies, I was enthusiastic about all aspects of tourism. Since then I have been working in various areas of (youth) travel.I was in quality management for many years and significantly involved in the development of quality standards and the writing of various works on the subject of youth travel. My current favorite project: Certification of youth travel destinations! I am member of the YTA management board.
Our mission
The Youth Travel Academy is an independent service provider for companies and agencies operating in the international youth travel sector. The Academy has its focus on the continuous development of quality standards and the professionalism of the youth travel industry. For this purpose, it works closely with all relevant associations in the business, is neutral in its approach and targets practitioners in the field of youth travel.
The Academy is concentrating on an effective, quick and target orientated delivery of support mechanism for the operational level of youth travel institutions. Because of its independence and its training networks the Academy is able to react promptly and effectively on all initiatives and issues arising from this area of work.
This mission is realized through training and development programmes, quality development including inspections, management consultancies and programme development and continuous support, moderation and advice on initiated processes.
The Academy works closely with other academies and universities and is therefore in the position to undertake scientific research and government funded projects within this area of work as well as introducing praxis relevant topics into the scientific establishment.
